One Week Before the Surgical Procedure

Such is the case with any surgery, there are many actions you’ll need to take before you go under for a rhinoplasty. This surgical procedure is most often used to reshape and contour a nose to make it better fit one’s face.

However, there are many reasons why people need or want to get a nose job. A lot of people don’t realize that there is much preparation to be done beforehand, so when you come back from the hospital you can focus on healing.

Taking Care of Your Body

A week before your rhinoplasty procedure, you’ll need to take very good care of your body. This means you should get plenty of sleep, stay hydrated, and eat a balanced diet. Doing this can accelerate the healing process later.

Additionally, you’ll want to keep clean, especially your face. You should be washing your face twice per day with a gentle cleanser and exfoliating every one or two days depending on your skin’s sensitivity.

Preparing Your Healing Space

You should also do a lot of preparation for when you come home. After your surgery, you will be in pain. Likely, it will be difficult for you to do many of your normal tasks when you get your rhinoplasty here

During the week before your surgery, clean your space, do your laundry, pick out comfy outfits, and prepare meals you can eat while you heal. You want to make things as easy as possible for your future self.

Getting All Your Ducks in a Row

Beyond preparing your body and home, you’ll also need to plan for your ride back from the hospital. Plan for your significant other, a close friend, or a family member to pick you up when your surgery is finished.

During this week, you should also call your plastic surgeon to make sure everything is in order. Make sure you’ve signed what needs signing and called who needs calling. Then, ask what medications you need to pick up.

One Day Before Getting Your Nose Job

On the day before you go to the hospital to meet your cosmetic surgeon for your surgical procedure, keep in mind a few things. Most importantly, do not put on any makeup on this day. Wash your face once and that is all.

Also, do not eat or drink anything. You’ll need to fast from midnight until after your cosmetic surgery. When you wake up in the morning skip your coffee, and instead put on comfortable clothes to wear to the hospital.
