Is the vapor from your vape device starting to taste strange? Is it producing fewer vapors than it should be? If it is, it may be time to clean your vape mod.
If you’re one of the 10.8 million American adults who vape, you’re going to want to know this guide by heart. Cleaning your vape mod or pen is a crucial factor in caring for it. Below, we’ve got a how to clean a vape mod and pen.
1. How to Clean a Vape Tank
Learning how to clean a vape tank is an easy and quick process once you get the hang of it. The first step is disassembling your mod box from the coils. Remember to take note of how you’ll assemble them all back together.
You could clean most tank components with warm running water. Rinse once if the tank is still somewhat clean. If the tank hasn’t gotten any cleaning for a while, rinse it twice.
If you want to, you could soak your tank with PG instead too. For deep cleaning, you can use baking soda, ethanol, or vinegar as cleaning agents. Finally, give each component a thorough rinse, especially after the cleaning agents.
2. How to Clean Vape Coils
Your vape coils deserve some attention, too. The more gunk buildup in your coils, the lower your vapor quality will get. The first step is to remove the wicks from your vape coil.
If the coils are somewhat clean still, you can do a light dry burn to clean them up. Do this by pressing the fire button a few times until the remaining liquid disappears. Allow the coils to cool down before you can re-wick and start vaping again.
If you need deeper cleaning on your coils, remove the atomizer from the mod. Put them under running water and then brush them. Using light strokes, take a toothbrush or a coil cleaning tool.
Rinse the coils once more and then stick the atomizer back to the vape mod. Dry burn one final time to remove the last bits of water. If nothing works still, it may be time to rebuild your atomizer.
3. How to Clean a Vape Pen
Most of the newer vape mods come in pen form. If the tank detaches, follow the steps for cleaning vape tanks above. For the battery section, use a soft, dry cloth to clean it.
It can be trickier to clean vape pen starter kits. Use a dry Q-tip for general cleaning. For tank cleaning, soak the Q-tip in PG liquid or distilled water.
